Online career events
Planning, promotion, and logistics for online events that drew thousands of developers and dozens of hiring companies.
The problem
When in-person events stopped in 2020, Arc, a remote hiring platform, needed a new way to reach remote developers and the companies hiring them.
What I did
- Planning: set up Remote Career Summit 2020 (one day, 13 sessions, 29 speakers) and Remote Career Success Week (3 days, 11 sessions).
- Promotion: sent 11,117 outreach emails in 12 days, and set up 80 tracking links to see which channels brought signups.
- Ops and logistics: picked and set up the event platforms, managed speakers, and automated signup notifications.
- Repeatable process: built the framework and run book for online job fairs, so the team could run them again and again.
- Also ran monthly developer meetups and client webinars.
The result
- Summit: 2,596 signups and 1,484 live attendees (57%)
- Success Week: 1,039 signups, 67% attended live, and people stayed about 3 hours on average
- Job fairs: 11K+ RSVPs and 87 hiring companies
- Outreach emails: 36.5% open rate, and 17% of all summit signups
